I need a title for this story?

K so, I’m planning on starting a new story. (again) and I need a title. Don’t mind and grammar errors in this, please. I’m typing it pretty fast, because I have to leave soon, and ANYWAY, I need a title. The story is about this;

A girl named (who knows, if you have a name for her that’d be nice, too) Anyway, she and her friends arrange a halloween party to have in this abandon house/garden place, because they think it’ll be spooky and fun. And it’s their senior year, so they want something fun. This girl gets there, and no ones there. She thinks her friends tried to play a trick on her, and she gets angry. She begins to leave, but on her way out she realizes the statues in the garden are in different spots. She get nervous, but over all ignores them. Its part of the reason they chose it, because of the statues. When she realizes they are moving, even though she cant see them, she breaks into a sprint. When she blinks, they go to different spots. So yea. They catch up with her, and she thinks she’s doomed. She wakes up in a pitch black room. She’s terrified, and utterly confused. She doesn’t dare move and inch. Her palms are sweaty. After laying there for at least three hours, she sees light come from a crack which she assumes is a door. Turns out, she was saved. A boy who appears to be in his early twenties (23) saved her. He’s not human. I don’t have a name for a race for him right now, but I know he’s not human. Anyway, that night, when she falls back asleep, she wakes up back in her bed. To calm her uncertainty, she goes back to the house, claiming it wasn’t a dream and the boy will save her again. He doesn’t want to see her die, so he does. He plans on dropping her at her house again, but she swears she wont sleep till he promises to not take her home. (She’s kind of strong willed and adventerous) he finally agrees, after she nearly passes out.

WOW. That was a lot longer then planned. There’s more, but this should give everyone a ‘brief’ idea of what I have in mind. I’m trying my hardest to keep the romance between these two at a very minimal till the end. I seem to always get carried away with Character relations… Oh well(:

Wait, it would be nice if some people had an idea for a race name for the boy and/or a name for the girl. Kthxbye.

Note; in the actual story, I’ll explain why the boy saved all the guests and stuff, and why they weren’t there blahh blahh. Kso yea.

Gift for first birthday?

k, so my upstairs neighbour is having a birthday party in our backyard this afternoon for his daughter. She’s gonna be one. When I came home from church the neighbor was setting up some tables and stuff and saw me, and said if I’m around I should come. I will be around, but I don’t really want to come because I’m extremely shy. But I had planned on spending the afternoon gardening, so whatever I do, I’ll bump into them.

Anyway, regardless of what I do, since they asked me to come, I feel obligated to at the very least get her a gift. Although I have no idea what would be appropriate. Any ideas? i was thinking a bunch of flowers, but I’m not sure it’s okay, because that’s more a gift for the parents than for the baby. I don’t want to spend a lot either, so please help.

It’s Sunday, but even though I have an ethical opposition to Sunday shopping, I think it’s okay in these circumstances, however, not much is available to me. There is a big grocery store near here with a florist that also sells clothes and a few toys, there is a dollar store, and there is a drug store.

So question 1: Am I obligated to attend?
Question 2: Do I have to get a gift?
Question 3: what type of gift should I get?

Homemade Mint Ice Cream?

Hi Guys I’m off to a birthday party on Sunday evening and would like to bring some home made ice cream with me – I’m thinking mint ice cream as I know the host is planning apple pie or crumble.

Anyway here is a recipe I’ve come up with and would like some opinions.
500ml whole milk
500ml double cream
100g caster sugar
12 egg yolks
and I’m guessing about 10 fresh spearmint leaves from the garden.

As you can see it is a basic custard recipe all I’m doing is just omitting the vanilla and substituting the mint. But my concern is about the number of eggs 12 seems an awful lot!

My ice cream maker is the Kenwood IM200 Ice Cream Maker, 1.1 Litre so its going to be a pretty tight squeeze – I suppose I could drop all the contents down 20 percent. The machine is just a recent purchase and I’ve only used it twice so guidance would be appreciated.

As I’ve never made mint ice cream before then I’d appreciate your opinions on the number of leaves to add. I’m also thinking of crumbling in a chocolate flake, or adding some shaved chocolate about five minutes from the end.

Ok, I think we’ve finally got there but do you think this will work?

We can’t find a location that will suit everyone so we’ve decided to have a small private wedding at the registry office (gorgeous location by the way) we are not having a best man, not having bridesmaids or ushers and all we are inviting is his boys, my girls, his mum and my parents, no siblings (he has 6, I have 2 all married with children) no nieces or nephews just the 10 of us. We will have photo’s taken at the registry office which is set in the most beautiful park and gardens then go back to a hotel where we will arrange to have afternoon tea, wedding cake and champagne. Freshen up then take everyone out for a meal at an excellent restaurant that is just up the road which is owned by a celebrity chef. Then back to the hotel where we will all be staying for the night. We will be paying for hotel and meal, everything. That will be in June then at the end of August just before we plan to fly off on our honeymoon we will have a celebration party for all our friends, it will just be an evening party, with a buffet laid on, dancing etc and just a general fun night.

Now I know how things have gone with trying to arrange this marriage (would love to elope abroad somewhere but we can’t as there is a problem over obtaining his birth certificate and an apostle copy within 3 months of the wedding as some places want would be impossible) but can anyone point out any flaws in my current plans or any suggestions for room for improvement before I start to get excited about finally having things in place. Or does anyone know of anywhere abroad that only requires passports and not birth certificates (we are in England by the way so we do only need passports) just in case something goes wrong with this idea like my mother throwing a fit when she comes home from France next month.
Thanks Celia, we actually live in England and the registry office in question is our local one, even Scotland wants a birth certificate but although he is a British national he was born abroad and his birth country (originally dual nationality) is a bit lax about things like birth certificates.

The party will be just that a party, we are not claiming it’s a reception we just want to do something for our friends. I could put it back a week and call it a 3 month anniversary party instead jk
@ Blunt my ideal would be to throw a large ceremony and party on the one day and have everyone who means anything to me around me but I can’t do that. We live in a remote village in the middle of nowhere which doesn’t even have a bus service of an evening, We could hold the wedding in our local church and then have a large reception in the Church hall and would do that but there is nowhere for people to stay and all of our relatives will be travelling long distance, most live at the other end of the country. So second choice was to hold the reception and wedding at a hotel venue in the nearest town, family can stay but our friends would be stuck with a hefty taxi bill which we didn’t think was fair. Sometimes trying to do the best thing means making choices which aren’t always ideal.
@ Kara they are in various locations I’m pretty close to my home town but my siblings have moved away, his siblings have spread out as well so there is no one location that would suit everyone. Half his family is abroad and would not be able to attend no matter what we did.

Do You Think I Have Real Friends?

Well I notice that Something and I think I’m a pushover .
All of my so called friends are georgeous and have money and boys and friends and a social life . Total opposite of me . Im more stay inside the house and make brownies and nag out with no one for days cause no one wants to hang out with me type . even if i ask them ,
Everytime Any of my so called friends ask me to hang out with them .
The plans always change and they all end up going to some guys house or going to some cool party and i ususal sit there and be the third wheel or dont get invited at all . And when they come home late they always say ( betsy = me ) ” oh we were late cause betsy had problems and was taking too long or whatever ” They always act like they are better than me . like … when they wanted to go to mcdonalds . I had no money . so one of them threw her 5 dollar bill at me and was like ” that’s supposedly your money . and when i went to go get it she grabbed it and put it back in her wallet . And when I wanted to watch harry potter They all left and said it was boring leaving me to wait for them to pick me up . So ,.. one day they asked me . where do you want to eat ? and i said olive garden . But this time one of them didnt have enough money so instead we had to eat at their choice . Or when she wanted to sleep over at my house . But then her boyfriend came to my house in the middle of the night , turns out she didnt really want to hang out with me . She just wanted to hang out with her boyfriend AND now … I sleptover at her house . And her and her friends went to Some cool parties . 2 of them . Leaving me here .

Please find below our suggestion for fixing England ‘s economy.

Instead of giving billions of pounds to banks that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan..
You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:
There are about 10 million people over 50 in the work force.
Pay them £1 million each severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire.
Ten million job openings – unemployment fixed
2) They MUST buy a new British car.
Ten million cars ordered – Car Industry fixed
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage -
Housing Crisis fixed
4) They MUST send their kids to school/college/university -
Crime rate fixed
5) They MUST buy £100 WORTH of alcohol/tobacco a week …..
and there’s your money back in duty/tax etc
6) Instead of stuffing around with the carbon emissions trading scheme that makes us pay for the major polluters, tell the greedy bastards to reduce their pollution emissions by 75% within 5 years or we shut them down.
It can’t get any easier than that!
P.S. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back their falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances

This way the pensioners would have access to showers, hobbies and walks.
They’d receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs etc and they’d receive money instead of paying it out.
They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped instantly, if they fell, or needed assistance.
Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them.
A guard would check on them every 20 minutes and bring their meals and snacks to their cell.
They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.
They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counselling, pool and education.
Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, PJ’s and legal aid would be free, on request.
Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with gardens.
Each senior could have a PC a TV radio and daily phone calls.
There would be a board of directors to hear complaints, and the guards would have a code of conduct that would be strictly adhered to.

The criminals would get cold food, be left all alone and unsupervised. Lights off at 8pm, and showers once a week. Live in a tiny room and pay £600.00 per week and have no hope of ever getting out.

My name is Jack. When I was twelve, me and my then ten year old brother James had the most magical but also strange adventure that changed our lives forever not to mention the lives of the people that we met along the way. Whether people believed us or not, me and James knew that what happened to us was true.
I woke up, knowing that I had just slept my last sleep in my beloved house. Today was the day that we were moving. After months of looking and inspecting homes around Britain we had found one. It was a beautiful house located on the outskirts of Wales, The South of Wales to be precise. I had not yet seen the house, but from what I had heard it was a big house with an even bigger garden. The garden! This is what I was looking forward to the most, if it is anything that my parents had told me it is, then it is magnificent. Apparently it had decided to split into three sections. They made one for my mother, one for my father and then finally, one for me and my brother James.
The first section, at the top of the garden would be for my father. It had a patio, the only patio on the whole garden; as soon as the words only and patio came out, we all knew that this was his part of the garden. My father is weird when it comes to things like that. He seems to hate any surface that isn’t solid. He hates grass, sand, mud and even garden soil. Seriously, what is so scary about soil? Nothing! That it was is scary about it. My father has told me time and time again that in the summer he will be sitting on his patio enjoying the scenery of the rest of the garden while slurping a cold glass of icy Coke. He has also promised himself that he will buy numerous items that will make his time there much more enjoyable. The items that he has told me are from little things like a BBQ to things that even he knows he’s never going to get despite his want for them. For example, he has told me that he wants a one thousand pound vibrating chair that he says will we all can use. Once. He also wants to add lighting to all around the patio so that we can have parties when the summer comes. He better start finding new friends soon or this party will be us and us alone. Moving down the garden via a little path and you came to the next part of the garden, me and my brother’s part.
Our part of the garden. The best? From what I’ve heard I think it may well be. This section of the garden has nothing really apart from two things. Grass and open space. It is all we really needed. In my opinion it’s all any kid needs to have fun. With lots of space covered with grass you can do anything that you dream of doing. You can fall without hurting, jump without looking and because of the beautiful smooth surface, run without tripping. With all the open space here we have decided that putting down a fairly big above ground swimming pool when the summer came would not take that much off the garden. There are also many other things that I’ve got plans to get, to make and to have endless fun with. We have been told that whatever we would like to do with our part of the garden is our choice and as long as it is in a reasonable manner, although I think that some of the ideas I have thought up might be too unreasonable even if I begged. These are things like a big inflatable water slide to the world’s largest tree house. I don’t think that any amount of my begging or pleading is going to work with ideas like that though. If u then keep moving through our part of the garden you would see an immediate change.
My mothers section of the garden is much more traditional than ours and dads. She says that it is what she has always dreamt of. It is basically a palace of the best flowers that the world has ever seen she says, none of the wasted space that we have, or the twenty-second century feel that my father is trying to produce. My mother has always wanted a sort of maze of hedges and plants that she has never really been able to do because our house that we have now is too small and much to cramped to do anything of the sort. She is so exited about this that she has actually drawn out her plans.
“I will have a line of roses her, with some dandelions along here…”
“Yes okay mum, I’m sure you will.” We would say to her every time she showed us. I don’t know if you can tell but I’m not the most interested person when it comes to things like flowers. I did once work on my Grandmothers garden once a week, but I never really paid attention to what I was doing. I just did it.
I will not tell her this but me and James have great plans for hide and seek once her dream has finally been concurred.
