Answers To Your Questions About It Is Recommended That

Sharon asks…
Is it recommended mineral supplements be included in a lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet? Which minerals are needed?
I’ve been told by many different people that you need and do not need mineral supplements in a lacto-ovo-vegatarian diet. Is it recommended you include these and if so, what are the key minerals and vitamins that are needed to be included?

Yes, and this is VERY IMPORTANT!! Make sure you take supplemental B-12 vitamins. Vegetarians and Vegans are at risk…
Vitamin B12 is an important vitamin for maintaining healthy nerve cells and it aids in the production of DNA and RNA, the body’s genetic material. It also works closely with vitamin B9 (folate) to regulate the formation of red blood cells and to help iron function properly in the body. Furthermore, vitamin B12 is needed for Calcium absorption. Deficiencies of vitamin B12 are usually caused by a lack of intrinsic factor, a substance that allows the body to absorb vitamin B12 from the digestive system. Such a deficiency can cause a range of symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath, diarrhea, nervousness, numbness or tingling sensation in the fingers and toes. People with the blood disorder pernicious anemia do not produce sufficient intrinsic factor and must take high doses of vitamin B12 to maintain their health. Others at risk for B12 deficiency include vegetarians who follow a strict vegan or macrobiotic diet.
Without B-12, you are at risk for nerve demylination disease… With symptoms much like Multiple Sclerosis.

What is the recommended closing date when selling a property (2 bedroom apartment) in Toronto, Canada?
In order to sell for maximum price (no pressure to sell immediately but not interested in waiting too long either), is it recommended that the closing date be 1 month, 3 months or 6 months from the day of putting it for sale on the MLS (Multiple Listing Service)?
THANKS.

Green Thumb answers:
The best thing to do is put ‘flexible’ as the closing date. That way you are not restricting yourself to a particular buyer (i.e. Those that need to move in quickly, or those that can’t move in until a later date). Furthermore you can negotiate price by using you willingness to meet their closing date. I just recently bought a house, and the seller needed to sell quickly (as they purchased another home), and I didn’t need the home until later. So what I did was put a closing date in my offer approximately 120 days in the future; the seller negotiated with me and the sooner the closing date became the more he was willing to go down in price. He was willing to meet my 90 day closing but it would mean that he wouldn’t discount the price of the house much, but if took it in 60 days he would give it to me for less.
So by being flexible in your closing date you can avoid the buyer using the closing date as a negotiation tactic, and also it will provide you with more room to negotiate with the buyer.
‘You want the apartment in 120 days?? ‘ sure I can do that for you, but the price is fixed’. Etc etc.

Linda asks…
What the methods recommended to treat tonsillitis lymphoma/cancer?
My doctors said my condition is quite critical. Tumor removal surgery is not possible @ the moment. Recommended concurrent chemotherapy & radiation. I heard that chemotherapy is a very harsh & traumatic treatment & I’m a weak person(under 100lbs in weight). What about radiation? Is it just as harsh? Or does anyone out there know of any other treatment methods such as taking prescription medication to destroy the tumor?

Green Thumb answers:
Chemo is taking prescription medication to destroy the tumor. It is not used for tonsillitis, but it is for lymphoma. You already know the answer to your question. If you do not believe your doctor get another opinion.

Why is it not recommended to wear plastic nails more than 7 days?
I decided to try fake nails and on the package it says that it is not recommended to wear the nails for more than 7 days.
Why is this?
They are really nice and the procedure to remove them seems more damaging to the nails than wearing them longer than 7 days. (They even make my typing faster! LOL!)
Do they have a legitimate reason for this or is it just Lawyer Required nonsense?

Green Thumb answers:
Your natural nails need to breathe, or moisture can seep between the fake/real nail and create infections.
It’s always good to let your nails have a breather period.

How often is it recommended to do weight training?
Three weeks ago I started a weight training program. I’m currently exercising Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, as I’ve heard that it is best to leave at least a day open between workout sessions so that my muscles can repair themselves.
Is it recommended to exercise every day, whilst possibly taking a break on Saturdays and Sundays? I understand that it will take time to see results, but I’d like to speed them along as much as possible.

Green Thumb answers:
Depends on what your goals are. I would not recommend training every day regardless of what your goals are, but a M-W-F split is very good. Just don’t do the same exercises or even body parts each day. Depending how hard you blast your muscles, it could take a body part up to 9 days to fully recover. So although you may feel better come Wednesday, your still healing from the trauma to the muscle fibers you caused on Monday.
I do resistance training twice a week as a full body workout. So I have 2 days and 3 days rest between sessions. If I was to do 3 days a week it might be something like upper body on Monday, lower body on Wednesday, upper on Friday. Then the following week it’s lower on Monday, upper Wednesday and lower on Friday. This is a very good rotation and keeps some variety in your program.
Another thing to remember is that you don’t need to do every exercise ever invented for each body part. For example, 2 exercises for chest is plenty, 2 for back, 2 for legs, and 1 for triceps and biceps. There’s carry over to the arms when you work chest and back.
I have more info at this site if you want to get more tips. I’m a certified trainer so I’ve picked up a few tips here and there.
